Remembering Sept. 11, 2001

Dear Colleagues,

Today marks 23 years since the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania—a day that claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans and citizens of many nations.

As we pause for reflection, we honor the memory of those who were lost, the bravery of the first responders and the enduring resilience of the families who continue to carry the weight of that day in their hearts. Their stories are a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit and our deep capacity for care and compassion.

At Pima, these values are woven into our foundation through our Culture of Care. This day serves as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to build a campus, a community and a world rooted in kindness, empathy and understanding. I encourage each of us to think about how we can honor the memory of September 11 by embodying these values through our actions—whether it's offering a simple gesture of kindness or finding meaningful ways to be of service to others.

Thank you for being part of a community that uplifts one another and strives to make Pima a place where everyone feels heard, supported and valued. Together, we can ensure that our campus remains a space for inclusivity, growth and connection.

As we remember September 11, 2001, let us carry forward the lessons of unity, resilience and hope that emerged in its aftermath, and continue to make a positive difference in our world.
